At the date of End of Sales (EOS):
- It will still be possible to create on-demand virtual machines in the concerned generation.
- It will no longer be possible to order reserved instances (RIs) in the concerned generation, but you will still be able to consume your already engaged RIs.
- You will be able to upgrade your resources to the v5 generation (and, in the case of RIs, at no extra cost, limited to the period of the initial order). You will simply need to stop/start your virtual machines while modifying their processor generation.
At the date of End of Support and Maintenance (EOSM):
- The concerned generation will no longer qualify for maintenance and technical support agreement. It will still be possible (via the API) to create machines in the concerned generation, but there will be no commitment in terms of SLAs.
- The date of EOSM is the expiry date at which the RIs in the concerned generation are no longer valid.
